Connection with Thomas Amis:
In the late 1770's, Thomas purchased David Crockett's Grandparents land after they were killed by Cherokee. Later in the 1780's he gave this land to his daughter Mary, who had wed Joseph Rogers. This property on Crockett Creek is what ultimately became Rogersville, TN.
